Pinaymootang School students recently attended a Land Based Youth Gathering in Sandy Bay First Nation. The students had a good time with all sessions throughout the week February 26-March 1, 2019.
It was a good event where students made friends, learned hands on craft making, archery, hide tanning, outdoor net setting, bannock making, and tea boiling.
All students and chaperones camped at the school for the entire week.
Other schools participating were: Peguis, Split Lake, Sandy Bay, Ebb and Flow, Cross Lake, and Fisher River. One of our Elders Clifford Sumner came to visit the students during the week and we would also like to thank Councillor Kurvis Anderson representing Pinaymootang First Nation Leadership for their support.
We were provided gifts for all participants and a Big Meegwetch! to Sandy Bay First Nation Isaac Beaulieu Memorial School for their exceptional hospitality. We could have stayed longer but all good things must come to an end and we had to say our goodbyes for now until the next one.
Good job to all students and chaperones! Thank you to Pinaymootang School for allowing us to represent our school.
